Our story

A dependable link between port and inland.

Headquartered in Bugolobi Kiyembe, Kampala, High Tide Logistics was established to connect Ugandan importers, exporters, and traders with the Port of Mombasa and with inland destinations across Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Since inception, we have handled container movements along the Northern Corridor from Mombasa Port to Kampala's Inland Container Depot, as well as cross-border deliveries into the Democratic Republic of Congo — managing delivery order requests, port clearance coordination, inland transportation, and empty container returns for our clients.

01 · We coordinate

A vetted partner network

Independent transporters, clearing agents, and port-handling partners, selected and monitored with care.

02 · We're accountable

End-to-end ownership

We take full responsibility for the shipment, from port release to the empty container's return.

03 · Partners execute

Specialist delivery

Trucking, customs and clearance are carried out by accredited partners — keeping us flexible and able to scale across corridors.

Our vision
To be the most trusted freight, transportation, and clearance coordination partner in East Africa — recognized for reliability, integrity, and excellent service in every market we operate in.
Our mission
To simplify cross-border trade for our clients by combining dependable transportation, customs and clearance coordination, competitive pricing, and a carefully vetted partner network — moving every shipment safely, on time, and with full accountability, while continuously improving the way we work.
Core values

How we show up.

01

Integrity & Accountability

We take ownership of every shipment we coordinate, end to end.

02

Reliability

We deliver on transit times and commitments, and communicate proactively when circumstances change.

03

Customer-Centricity

Our processes and pricing are designed around what makes our clients' work easier.

04

Professionalism

We conduct our business, and choose our partners, to the highest standards of conduct.

05

Compliance

We operate, and expect our partners to operate, within the full letter of customs, tax, and transport law.

06

Continuous Improvement

We invest in better systems, better partners, and better processes, including practical technology where it genuinely helps our clients.

Strategic objectives

Each challenge on the corridor
has a corresponding objective.

01

Deliver reliable, on-time service

Set realistic transit-time commitments for each route, monitor performance against them, and hold our transport and clearing partners accountable for meeting agreed timelines.

02

Keep clients informed

Provide clear, proactive updates at key milestones — loading, port clearance, border crossing, delivery, and empty container return — so clients are never left guessing.

03

Build a vetted, well-managed partner network

Maintain a register of trucking, clearing, and port-handling partners, tracking on-time performance, documentation accuracy, and incident history, so that subcontractor risk is actively managed rather than assumed.

04

Stay fully compliant

Ensure our own documentation, tax, and licensing obligations are in order, and require the same of every partner we work with, to protect clients from regulatory and customs risk.

05

Offer fair, transparent pricing

Provide itemized quotations that clearly separate our scope of service from the client's own regulatory responsibilities, with no hidden charges.

06

Grow our regional network responsibly

Expand our route coverage and partner base in Uganda and neighbouring markets in step with demand, without compromising service quality.

07

Adopt practical technology where it helps

Use straightforward digital tools such as structured documentation, invoicing templates, and status notifications to reduce errors and improve communication, without adding unnecessary complexity for our clients.

Strategic goals

A phased plan to grow
without losing accountability.

Phase 1 · Year 1

Strengthen the foundations

  • Standardize our quotation, invoice, contract, and receipt documentation across all client engagements.
  • Formalize written agreements and clear performance expectations with our trucking and clearing partners.
  • Establish a register of partners, tracking on-time performance and documentation accuracy per engagement.
  • Publish indicative transit-time and cost benchmarks per route to set realistic client expectations.
  • Introduce simple status notifications (phone, WhatsApp, or email) at key shipment milestones.
Phase 2 · Years 2–3

Deepen service quality and reach

  • Grow our client base and route coverage across Uganda and neighbouring markets, in step with demand.
  • Expand and diversify our network of accredited trucking, clearing, and port-handling partners for greater resilience and coverage.
  • Introduce practical tools such as shipment tracking and a simple client status portal, where they genuinely reduce friction for clients.
  • Build a working understanding of seasonal and route-level risk (e.g. border congestion periods) to plan shipments more realistically.
Phase 3 · Years 3–5

Scale responsibly across the region

  • Extend our coordinated services along the Central Corridor and further into the Democratic Republic of Congo and other neighbouring markets.
  • Deepen long-term partnerships with trucking and clearing companies to improve consistency and cost efficiency at scale.
  • Adopt further digital and regional-system integrations as they become practical and beneficial, without losing the personal accountability that defines our service today.
